Player Agreement/Rules |
  |   |   |   |   |   |   |   |   |
These rules are not optional. They apply to everybody, whether you're a first-time player or a long-time subscriber. We have absolutely no problem or reservations in deleting your account for violation of any of these rules. If your account is deleted due to a rules violation, don't blame Lunatix administration - we didn't do it, you did.Help us keep the game fair for everybody. If you know of anybody who has broken any of the rules, let us know by emailing lunguide@prowler-pro.com.
>>> #1 - Real Name is REQUIRED
You must provide your real name on sign up. This means your first and your last name. You are anonymous to every other person in the game, but you are not anonymous to game administration and we do not share this information. Your real name is not displayed except to us, and accounts created with fake or questionable "real names" will be deleted or at minimum locked out until you contact us to provide your real name. This is a condition of sign-up, required for your account.
>>> #2 - One Patient Per Player
You are allowed only one patient in Lunatix Online. You may be tempted to create another one -- to get more turns, more play time, crazy bucks or experience, or for any reason. Don't do it. We will find out (Lunatix Online features built-in cheat-checking), and upon finding out, both accounts will be deleted (paying members will not receive a refund). Lunatix Online wasn't designed to provide a fair playing field in a multiple-account scenario. We do plan on developing more online games, possibly where it wouldn't tip the scales of justice to have more than one character in the game.
>>> #3 - One FREE Patient Per Household
Only one free account per household is allowed, and only when no other patients play the game. Multiple patients are allowed only when each one is using paid time or a subscription, and each patient is a separate player (see rule #2). If you sign up, then your wife, husband, brother, sister, mother, father, friend (etc) sign up a free account, we will assume you are cheating and all patients from the same household will be locked out. If you plan to play your own patient from somebody else's computer who also has a patient, or if you wish for other people to play Lunatix Online from yours, you must both purchase hourly time or a subscription in advance. Otherwise, it may appear as if you're cheating.
NOTE: The term household is extended to mean any group of computers in the same location -- an office, your school's computer lab, or a cyber-cafe, just to name a few. Because the internet is designed for anonymous browsing and it is impossible to know if each account is really a different person otherwise, our only choice is this rule.
>>> #4 - Behave When You Play
This rule works under the concept of community standards, not censorship. You are expected to be mature enough to handle this, and by signing up to play this game, you voluntarily agree to practice restraint in your interactions with other players.
If you are unable to behave maturely and respecfully of the other patients here, your ability to chat, post news, and send mail may be suspended for 24 hours or longer. If you are asked to go to a private channel (100 or higher) to finish a heated discussion, be sure to do so, as most players would rather not participate in arguments, flame wars, or heavy flirting in the public chat. In some instances, such as repeated disruptions or vulgar chat, you may be locked out (temporarily or permanently).
No good list of “DOs” and “DON'Ts” can be devised, since everything not on the list would become an “exception.” It's impossible to predict everything a person might do that might be disruptive. Obvious things, of course, are profanity (The "F" word, as an example, and any variations, self-censored, or "$ymb01iz3d" versions). Name-calling is disrespectful and has no place here. Attempting to force your political, sexual, or religious beliefs on other players is not allowed. Mature discussions of these and other controversial topics may be allowed in public chat, as long as the discussion stays civil and is not offensive or disruptive to the other players.
If you are offended by certain minor things in chat, or feel that your standards are more strict than that of the community, remember that you have several options to enjoy a peacful, uninterrupted game. You can switch to any other chat channel you like. You can also turn on “Busy“ so that others can't chat with you unless they're on your channel. You can even block other patients on an individual basis, by clicking the “ignore” option by their name inside the “Find Players Online” list.
The purpose of Rule #3 isn't to watchdog you or punish you for simple slip-ups. It's merely to maintain a community standard that encourages cooperative gameplay and non-offensive fun, which is necessary for the mature enjoyment of any online game.
>>> #5 - Report All Bugs To Us
Bugs/Cheats should be reported. If you are doing something “weird” in the game because you've figured out you can cheat that way, you are obligated to report it as well. If we discover that you've been cheating or using a game bug to cheat, you will be deleted. Exploiting a game flaw (if any) is never allowed. If you are in doubt, just email us (wyndo@prowler-pro.com) and ask.
>>> #6 - You're Responsible For Your Account
You are completely responsible for your account. If you allow a friend or relative (or anybody, for that matter) to use your Lunatix Online account, you're 100%, totally, undeniably responsible for their conduct in the game. If your account (regardless of who's using it) breaks the rules, your account will be deleted or locked out even if it wasn't you. A tip: Use a strong password and keep it a secret!
>>> #7 - No Sitting-Duck Kills Allowed
“Sitting Duck” kills are not allowed, ever, for any reason. We have provided a “money transfer” option, and a loan shark in the game. These things have been designed to keep the balance of play fair. Because you can get half a player's on-hand money by killing them (most players keep their crazy bucks stashed), players sometimes attempt to cheat the game by purposely having another player kill them (sometimes after selling off their weapon and/or defense to become a “sitting duck”). All players participating in this type of unfair play will be deleted from the game.
